The Foliage Edit Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs thefoliageedit.com.au. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how we look after it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Your name, email, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses
- Your order details: what you bought, when, and any delivery instructions
- Project details you share for a quote or installation, such as photos of your space, measurements and the site address
- Messages, emails and notes from calls with us
- Website information, such as your device, browser, IP address, the pages you view and how you found us. This is collected through cookies and similar technology.
We don’t see or store your full card details. Payments are processed securely by Shopify and our payment providers.
How we collect it
We collect it when you place an order, ask for a quote, contact us, sign up to our newsletter or browse our website.
How we use it
- To process and deliver your order
- To quote, plan and carry out installations
- To answer your questions and handle returns and warranty claims
- To send you marketing emails, if you’ve opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To understand how people use our website so we can improve it
- To prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations
Who we share it with
We only share what’s needed to get the job done:
- Shopify, which runs our online store and processes payments
- Our suppliers and couriers, who pick, pack and deliver orders. Some products ship directly from our suppliers’ Australian warehouses.
- Installers working on our behalf
- Our email marketing provider, if you’ve signed up to our emails
- Google and Meta, for website analytics and advertising
- Our professional advisers, such as our accountant, or anyone we’re required by law to share it with
We don’t sell or trade your personal information.
Overseas storage
Some of our service providers, including Shopify and Google, store information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and Ireland. We use reputable providers who protect personal information to a standard comparable to Australian law.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies to keep the store working (like remembering your cart), to understand how our site is used and to show you relevant ads on other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly without them. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and manage ad preferences in your Google and Facebook account settings.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We only keep it as long as we need it, including any period required by law, such as tax records. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll let you know.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@thefoliageedit.com.au. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, email us at info@thefoliageedit.com.au and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
